Postpartum care and support in the Twin Cities

“In those first weeks, a mother should be waited on, served, and nurtured.”

– Debra Pascali-Bonaro

Welcome, and congratulations on your upcoming birth or new baby!

Pregnancy and postpartum are periods of change – physical, mental, emotional. You prepare to get to know this new little life who has come into the world, and adjust to your new roles as a parent. This time is full of many emotions, from excitement to exhaustion, whether it’s your first baby or your fifth. I believe that the early postpartum months should be a time to focus on recovery, attachment, and bonding. Support is a key piece in this time.

A postpartum doula can wait on, serve, and nurture the new parents and baby, and help everyone around them to do the same. A postpartum doula can provide an extra hand, listening ear, or keen eye during pregnancy and postpartum, along with education and resources. At a time when your focus will be on your recovery and your baby, a postpartum doula can give you a hand with your day to day life and take some things off your plate. You will receive personal, non-judgmental support in exactly the ways you need.
